The average person uses 55 gallons of water per day, including showers and
laundry. A septic system is designed by the number of bedrooms because that
determines how many people will live in a house. Massachusetts assumes two
people per bedroom.
Maintenance pumping prevents problems. The Mass
title 5 code recommends that septic systems be pumped every three years to
prevent build up in the tanks and blockages in your leaching area. We suggest
that any system over 10 years be pumped more often, every year or every other
year. Since everybody uses water a little differently, we can determine when we
pump your septic tank what your maintenance schedule should be based on the
number of people living in your home and the condition of your tank.
